यतो धर्मः ततो जयः
Yato Dharmastato Jayah
- where there is Dharma, there is victory
Where there is righteousness, there is victory.
The motto of Supreme Court of India is यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः॥ Where there is righteousness (Dharma), there is victory (jayah) has been taken from Mahabharatha, the Sanskirt epics of ancient India. Its a reaffirmation of the core Sanatana philosophy, Dharma, and the supremacy of the moral code of conduct over everything else. That no matter what, Dharma will prevail.
Being righteous literally means to be right, especially in a moral way. A righteous person not only does the right thing for other people but also follows Dharma. Dharma is a key concept that can be translated as ‘righteousness’, duty, etc. The righteous people always win the victory in spite of the hardships. Therefore, we should always follow the right path unmindful of the challenges in life, and go ahead with the belief that Truth Always Wins.
One should keep in mind that the truthful persons, following the right path, have to suffer a lot. The world is full of tricksters and deceitful persons who want to achieve their desired goals by hook or by crook. We have to fight against them by using the right means. The victory won by the wrong means can give us joy for a short period only. Whatever the adverse circumstances may be, we will never swerve from the right path.
The word Dharma has been misused in India for the past many years because people started using Dharma in the sense of religion and sects. Dharma is universal and eternal, it is not Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain etc, these are all different religions or sects. Dharma has nothing to do with any religion. Since ancient times, Dharma meant the universal laws of nature, which are applicable to everyone and everywhere. The English word 'secular' was wrongly translated as Dharma-nirpeksh meaning non-Dharmic.
Meditation should begin with truth as its objective and as one progresses, one should give all importance to the truth of the present moment. As one progresses in his life based on truth, one finally reaches the stage where one attains the Ultimate Truth. The ultimate truth can be obtained only through silence, not by thinking about it. Practice of meditation is to still the mind of its thought processes. One must walk the path in accordance with the law of nature, Dharma, which can be realized only through personal experience.
Spirituality is a path which will make you realize about your true self. It is a journey inside of ones being. Once you know your true nature and be so, you follow the path of nature and the laws of Dharma. Spirituality will make you to be in the present conscious state and to be a witness to the ecological process of nature. It will make your mind still and not make it drift to past or future. It will ultimately transform you into an Enlightened Being over a course of time.
