Kartavya - duty - the daily rituals

A wise man will always have a daily ritual to fulfill his Kartavya, his responsibility or duty towards his family and society.  Kartavya path means path of duty.  Any sane person will have a system and follows a pattern and will have a certain character or behavior which gets exhibited in his daily routine and in all his doings.   You can make out very easily if somebody is duty bound or not just by observing his daily ritual.  Unless you establish a daily routine or ritual you cannot have a quality life.  By having a daily routine one can access his/her progress and know whether he/she is heading in the right direction and also measure the consequences of his/her actions.  

Satisfaction is directly proportional to work done or executed in a day or over a time period in ones life.  The kind of satisfaction one gets while executing his work or doing his daily routine on a daily basis is more than one gets when he has achieved his target or goal in the end.  It is the process which is more important than the outcome. The journey is important than the destination.  If you can enjoy your journey you will be least bothered about reaching your destination or not.  If you can enjoy the process you do not wait for the outcome of your processes.

We need to assume and take different avatars to fulfill our Kartavyas.  We need to become a son, brother, father, husband, grandfather, friend, relative and so and so forth depending on the situation we are in and the people we are involved with.  Whatever role or avatar we assume we need to fulfill our obligation according to the respective avatar's specified conduct.  You adopt your behavior according to your character you are playing at the specific time period.  You adopt yourself and your role according to the situation you are in the present time.

Selfless work has built much of what we value in life in today's world.  If you are duty bound doing your Kartavya that you are supposed to be doing then you are truthful in your life.  True satisfaction comes from just doing one's job well.  If you adopt honesty as your policy then there is no hurdle you encounter in your life which you cannot overcome.  The more determined you are the more easier it becomes to undertake the journey of life in a peaceful and amicable way. 

If every individual is duty bound and conscious of what he is doing, doing with his own will and wish, then he is on the path of enlightenment and is in the process of transforming himself into an Enlightened Being.

Accepting your self and accepting the nature you are born in will make you realize what life is all about and transform you into an Enlightened Being.  Only when you become an Enlightened Being you will have the Arhatha, the eligibility, the capacity and the moral authority to show light to others in the journey of life.  

Spirituality helps you to decode your true self and decode the whole process of life and living and thereby making you a true human being worthy of living.
